Innovation in wire feeding control

KM headers have reliable features of detection defects to ensure consistency in performance in terms of process quality parameters control and product outliers’ proper identification and sorting out. Many innovations have been introduced by KM engineering compared to the standard closed-cutter headers available on the market: here we focus our attention on the wire feeding mechanism.
Normally, wire feeding pressure mechanisms are controlled through spring as illustrated in picture A. Success of mechanism depends on the quality of load springs. Unfortunately, after several usages, the spring gets release losing load, so creating difficulties in machine feeding regulation and provoking continuous setups and machine stops. To set and adjust the feeding takes long time. Furthermore, availability of spring may be an issue (long lead-time) and the part is also expensive.
KM machinery headers have feeding mechanism with pneumatic arrangements in all the series as illustrated in picture B. This arrangement is easy to maintain and gives faster set up and better and more stable control on the load pressure. It reduces the defect chances of malfunctioning of feeding mechanism to a great extent (approx. 96%) versus the standard solution.
